If you’re looking for a quick and easy dip that keeps you feeling satiated while getting all the benefits of a nutritiously packed snack, then this hummus recipe is it!
Hummus has always been one of my go-to snacks because it’s SO easy to make and can last the entire week.
This recipe is incredibly versatile with a few different options to add in a burst of different flavors; just pick the flavor you’re most in the mood for! It’s nice to change things up once in a while without having to think too hard, isn’t it? The flavor possibilities are endless.
As you can see below, for my recipe I opted for the roasted red pepper ad-in.
Side note: the secret key to avoiding all the undesirable side effects of bean consumption is to choose Eden Organics Chickpeas.
Unlike other brands, Eden Organics soaks their beans overnight and adds in kombu (a sea vegetable) to enhance digestibility. As an added bonus, they don’t use harsh chemicals like EDTA in their processing and they’re organically sourced in the good ol’ U.S of A.
Additionally, if you’re one of those people who do have issues tolerating beans, I highly recommend using Bean Assist before consuming them. It doesn’t have all the junky fillers like other brands out there (a.k.a. Beano) and I can personally attest it works wonders.
This recipe is gluten-free & dairy free AND it takes only 10 minutes to whip up! Seriously. That in and of itself is amazing, right!? Just toss all of your ingredients in a food processor, and you’re done.
This delicious creamy dip is full of fiber, protein, and healthy fats.
The addition of lemon zest helps boost hormone detoxification (thanks to d-limonene) and enhances your immune system with an extra dose of vitamin C.
The addition of garlic helps fend off unfriendly bacteria in your gut while feeding the friendly bacteria, acting as a prebiotic (if you don’t tolerate garlic, we definitely want to take a look at what’s going on inside your gut! Most of the time food intolerances like this one can stem from an imbalanced microbiome).
Use your hummus as a dip with gluten free crackers, raw veggies, or spread on anything you desire! Add a couple of tablespoons of olive oil + raw apple cider vinegar to make into a salad dressing.
So now it’s your turn! Try out this amazing hummus recipe and let me know what you think!
